Last night on an evening in downtown Bethlehem at the corner of Main & Broad streets I noticed the latest hot new addition to the shopping and dining area. No, not a new restaurant - electronic parking meters. The city is installing electronic parking meters along West Broad Street.
The parking meters will accept payment by credit card - Hallelujah. Just think, no more shortage of coins and running to feed the meters. A little bit of Heaven has come to downtown Bethlehem.
Approximately 48 meters between Main and New streets will be installed and tested by the Parking Authority to see if the meters are worthwhile for further expansion in the city.
