1. It is always wise to "Compare Prices" when you shop for anything in order to get the best bang for your buck. Gasoline is no exception to that rule. Why not download a gasoline application to find cheaper prices. Use your smart phone to comparison shop for the lowest gas prices in your zip code with a free application such as GasBuddy.
2. If you spend some time in your car commuting to work for example find the cheapest station for your gas. You generally don't want to buy gas near the highway. We all like convenience, but gas stations near the highway generally charge 10 to 15 cents a gallon more. Drive a little farther from the highway to find a better deal. If you are traveling, you should gas up in a rural town rather than a large city because prices will be lower.
3. It is a proven fact that open windows add drag and reduce your car's gas mileage by as much as 10% so keep your car windows closed on long stretches of the highway. Stop-and-go traffic offers a different challenge to save gas. If it's not too uncomfortable lower your car windows and save the air-conditioning. Air-conditioning will drain your gas tank and you'll be stopping a lot sooner to refill.
