More Drivers are running on gas fumes - warning from AAA about this ...

    More and more drivers are putting smaller amounts of gas in their cars in the hope that prices will eventually go down. The result of this approach is that more drivers are running out gas and have to call AAA for help.

    This however could also end up costing you even more in the long run because you could damage your fuel pump when there is not enough gas in your car. Some drivers admit to filling up less frequently and cutting back on errands and postponing family trips because they just cannot justify the added expense.

    AAA recommends that in order to save on gas you should try and become a gentler driver. That means going the speed limit and slowing down instead of slamming on your breaks. They also advise that you should never have less than a quarter tank of gas in your car. If you go below that level you could start to damage your fuel pump.
