Sands Casino Resort in Bethlehem reported its best earnings since it opened the Bethlehem casino in 2009. In the first 3 months of 2011 the casino earned $91 million dollars. A gambling casino looks at various revenue figures but the most watched figure is the EBITDA number. This number is the "Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation and Amortization". WOW, now that was a mouthful but accountants in the gambling business really watch this number. This number is the most telling in evaluating the success of the operation. Sands EBITDA reached $22 million dollars for the first quarter 2011.
