Fan who returned Derek Jeter's 3,000th hit baseball has some New Heavyweight Friends ..

Remember Christian Lopez the New York Yankee fan who caught Derek Jeter's 3,000th hit baseball and promptly returned it to Jeter and received some nice gifts from the Yankees. Well, with gifts come the IRS and the taxes due on the gifts. Yankees tickets and signed Jeter memorabilia are worth a lot of money after all.

Mr. Lopez is not thinking about taxes right now but some heavyweight companies are. Some companies are already stepping up to support him. Miller High Life has reportedly offered to pay any potential tax hit that he might get. Another white knight could be Modell’s. Modell’s, the popular sporting goods company has announced that they will put a program in place to help pay for any costs that come Lopez's way.
