Congratulations to ArtsQuest and the SteelStacks three-day Memorial Day weekend celebration to honor area servicemen and women. The May 28-30 event will have music, films, art and more. ArtsQuest is planning a traditional Memorial Day celebration at SteelStacks focused around citizens who have served our country and who are currently serving our country, and their families.
Inside the ArtsQuest Center, children can write letters to servicemen and the Lehigh Valley Chapter of Blue Star Mothers will be collecting items to send to soldiers. Events and activities planned include free performances.
There will also be some patriotic-themed films at the Frank Banko Alehouse Cinema.
The three-day event will end May 30 with a memorial service at 3 p.m. and a 7:30 p.m. concert by Daniel Rodriguez, aka the Singing Policemen, known for his dramatic rendition of "God Bless America" after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. Tickets are $35 and $25, with discounts for military personnel.
