Is anyone up for a New Hiking Trial – How about Manhattan Island ? …

Yes that’s right – a relatively new hiking trial on Manhattan Island. A few years back there was this elevated railway in the old Meatpacking district on the island. Well those crafty New Yorker’s turned it into a park. The trail runs for approximately 1 ½ miles from Gansevoort street to to West 34th Street, between 10th & 11th Avenues. The “High Line” offers great views of the Hudson River ship traffic, New Jersey and the Chelsea district with its boutiques, galleries and wonderful cafes. You really must walk the plank walkways through the lush greenery in the Washington Grasslands of the park.

You can best access “High Line” via any of these entrances:
· Gansevoort Street
· 14th Street (elevator access)
· 16th Street (elevator access)
· 18th Street
· 20th Street
