Jeter gets hit 3,000 - Fan returns baseball for NOTHING - est. value = $250,000 what happened next ..

Some lucky fan got the ball that was the 3000th. hit by Derek Jeter. Estimates put the ball's worth at $250,000 but all that the fan wanted was to personally return the ball to the man who had hit it. That was a really nice gesture from the fan. End of story… Well, NO.

The New York Yankees rewarded Christian Lopez’s generously with a pretty nice package. He will receive 4 tickets to a suite for every remaining game at Yankee Stadium this season. That includes any possible playoff games. He also gets 1st. row Legends Suite tickets to Sunday's game. Mr. Lopez also received an assortment of bats and jerseys. Oh yes, he did get to meet Jeter in person.

There are probably a lot of people who question Mr. Lopez’s judgment in returning the ball. But it’s nice and refreshing to see the integrity of Mr. Lopez’s decision in returning the ball to Jeter.
