The popular Cedar Beach Mayfair festival had an attendance rate drop of 30% this year. Mayfair officals reported that during the first 4 days of the 2011 festival the attendance reached 35,000 people. In 2010 the attendance was 48,000.
In 2011 Mayfair had to compete for attendance with the Sands Casino, SteelStacks and even the Iron Pigs. The Mayfair festival has had its debt problems over the years. In 2001 the festival found itself in debt to the tune of $250,000 but has managed to reduce the debt to $15,000 at the beginning of 2011.
