Seth MacFarlane the creator of the Family Guy has acquired the rights on TV and film of the most famous pre-historic family from the little town of Bedrock – the "The Flintstones". Warner Brothers, the rights holders, to the Flintstones negotiated the deal with MacFarlane's home studio, 20th Century Fox. MacFarlane’s other credits include the creation of "The Cleveland Show," and "American Dad".

"The Flintstones," premiered in 1960 and ran until 1966. Reruns of this popular cartoon family have been on the air ever since. TV movies and even live action films were also spun off of the Flintstones in the 1990s. Today is a great day for cartoon fans.
